LVI -suunnittelu Laaksonen Oy
The owner of the company commissioned me to design a distinctive visual identity. They provide heating, water and ventilation engineering solutions for private homes in Finland. The underlying message to be communicated was Finnish design, both in terms of engineering and image. The logo plays with the abbreviation of these 2 words in Finnish: “Suomi” (Finland) and “Suunnittelu” (design & engineering). The “S” letters merge into a 2D spiral shape, in which the colours represent natural elements: blue water and air and green forests, just as we love them in Finland. Another aspect of the shape is the resemblance to warm air rising up and water flowing down, as well as referring to the constant circulation of elements in the atmosphere of our beautiful blue and green planet: Earth.
