This guesthouse was one of my clients during my 6 months trip in India.
This cozy, little accommodation in Palolem, Goa made me fond of the place, especially because of the owners’ friendliness and the support they provided to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Their kindness left a mark on me and motivated to give back something, somehow. With my limited means at the time (only an oversized tablet, a laptop and my passion to design) the result was this modest logo. Last time I heard they love it, as do I.
The creative concept is the focus on the red dot. On one hand it is a reference to the hindu tilaka, on the other hand to the sun. The gold and red colours represent its colours at different stages during the day, and the waves underneath its reflection on the gentle sea.
A practical advantage of the logo is its easy application to everyday carriers of the image: the pattern is easily adoptable to pillow cases, tablecloths, etc.
